I have read a few books while I have been here and a couple of them made me ponder, ‘what if…’. Not sure why it took me so long to figure it out, but I finally realized that there is a perfect language for me to use. Considering how bad I am at speaking loudly and in a frequency that people can hear, this one is perfect! Figured it out yet? When I have been walking around the ranch, grasshoppers will jump out of the way of my feet and, in the process, jump into a wall or something hard and fall to the ground. Big surprise, we actually destroyed their democracy. This election season is the first time that I have ever been inspired by a candidate. You may or may not like the candidate, but if [...] Saturday, 26 January I have been home for almost 3 weeks and I have been struggling to maintain a balance between the old me (pre-costa rica) and the me that was developed while in costa rica. Some of it is stuff like having to drive to go somewhere since the city is built out instead of up. It wouldn’t be so bad if there was huge public transportation system like city taxis and buses. Actually, the bus routes are pretty decent here, but where I am staying I would have to walk about two to three miles to catch a bus. I actually like not having a car, but just wish I did not need one to get around. Read this in the state press today (ASU’s student paper) and thought it was a good post: All are responsible for creating social injustice. All of these problems are born out of our actions. Yet, instead of recognizing our roles in the plethora of suffering, we wipe clean our conscience by finding somebody on [...] Why do we live the way we live? Why do we do the things we do? Why are we ok with slaving our lives away at work causing our home lives to deteriorate? Why is my hair blue? |
