Well, I have finished one week out of the three. So far it has been a lot of fun – biking on wall, walking around city, karaoke (I did sing a couple songs!), hiking in the countryside, english corner, seeing the sites, walking down muslim quarter, going to a peiking duck resturaunt (no, I [...] We rented bikes and rode around half of the city wall (about 6km). The weather was beautiful cause it rained in the morning and misted off and on while biking. As soon as we stopped the rain started again. We had a lot of fun and my wrists hurt for at least one [...] Every night, the Big Wild Goose Pagoda has a huge water show that has water jumping to music (think Bellagio in Las Vegas). The fun part of the show is that you can go into the water during the show! Some of the pictures are blurry, but I loaded them to flickr anyway [...] Wait, what’s this? Pizza? Yeah!!!! [...] La La Shou is the name of the second school that I am working at. This is a school for autistic kids up to 16 years old. On my first day a kid was also having her first day there and she was not happy. :[ From talking to the CCS staff, I have learned more about marriages and kids in china. First marriages. Ladies cannot get married until they are 23 and guys cannot get married until they are 25. I believe they said this is to try and reduce the likelihood of them having kids at an early [...]  Tonight, most of us went to a university in south Xi’an to an event called ‘English Corner’. Basically the gist of the event is english speakers show up and the students surround us and ask questions so they can practice their speaking and listening in english. |
