Here is a brief breakdown and everyone that is here: Continue reading The CCS group  Last weekend most of us went on a countryside hike. The drive took about 2 hours to get there and the last 30 minutes was a bumpy and busy dirt road. We went to a house that a driver’s friend owns. Last week we went to a dinner show (although we skipped the dinner part) that involved traditional Chinese dancing and music. This was definately a tourist trap cause most of the audience was foreigners! View the Tang Dynasty Show [...] I asked the staff if I could get lessons on how to play ping pong and they set me up with one of the drivers. We played for the first time yesterday. I learned a new way to hold the paddle (not the tennis way) and did alright. I could tell that he was [...] About half of the group is sick right now and all of them are from the kindergarden group. I don’t know if the kids are the cause or just being in a new environment. I have been taking an airborn pill everyday and so far I am good. Hopefully, I can keep it up. Today, Asher and I took the hi-tech tour and got to see the newer part of the city. There are tons, ok not tons but a butt-load, of buildings being built. Everywhere you go in Xi’an, buildings are being built with the majority being apartment buildings.  You may be wondering why there are pictures of two heads attached to stick figures. These are called flat stanleys after some cartoon character (or so I have been told). I finally made it to the drum tower and, suprisingly, there are lots of drums! ;] While we were there, we caught a group performing inside the drum tower. It was pretty cool and I got a couple of pictures of them. View drum tower pictures. [...] I took it easy this morning and tried to post more pictures and write more entries. I still have more to do, but the 6 new blog entries and 50 or so new pictures should keep you busy for a while. |
