This weekend I heard some people talking about how their friends just went to China to teach English through the Peace Corps. This caught my attention and I looked up the program online. It looks like they teach at a college or university in the western area of China. I would need to find [...]
Two years ago this month I was in China. Man, it seems just like yesterday and, yet, it also feels like ages ago.

Yesterday on npr’s marketplace, they had a story about the dating scene in China. They said that due to the young adults working so much, they have very little time for relationships, so parents and grandparents are stepping in to find a match. In Shanghai, hundreds of parents and grandparents gather in a park [...]
Tonight I was looking for jobs in Beijing for the summer olympics and somehow came across a set of videos from a jewish lady living in Beijing。 The videos have the theme of ‘sex in the city’ and she goes around the city asking questions like how do I find a boyfriend, what is [...]
Friday was the last day for 3 people (Liang, Ana and I), so we went back to 1+1 to celebrate. This time we rented a vip room up on the 4th floor which included 4 large sofas, karaoke and our own bathroom (this was a major bonus). Last night I woke up at 2am again, but this time it was due to a wacked out dream. I was at a summer camp with about 20 others and a guy shows up that is somewhere between Jason and Freddy (horror movies) and his name was Bobby. I freaked out and started attacking him with a weed-wacker (no idea why I had a weed-wacker). Bobby then said ‘No, no, no. I got a tuition waiver and am here for the summer camp’. All the others were happy to see him and I just stared off in disbelief. This was when I woke up.

I have already started looking into ways to go back to china. Yesterday, I looked into the TEFL certificate (teaching english as a foreign language) which would help me get a job if I wanted to teach english at a school. I just do not know if I should be teaching english given how [...]
Friday was my last day at La La Shou and at the end of the day, the staff and students gathered to say thank you to Alice and I. To say thank you, some of the kids showed off their talents by singing their name; singing a song about eyes, ears and nose; [...]
On Thursday a group of us went to a badminton court where some of the CCS staff taught us how to play. It was a lot of fun and the other players on the courts got a good laugh watching us. Oh, and the birdies we played with were made out of real feathers.
