There is so much to write already, but I wanted to give you a brief idea of what has been going on to hold you over until I have time to write more.
- Met with Minister of Education and Science at a press event. 3 volunteers were interviewed and I was most likely on TV since I sat in the front row.
- Traffic here is crazy like China. Everyone is an aggressive driver.
- Country is a late riser – typically don’t get things going until 9am.
- We will be asked 3 questions a lot: what is your religion, how much are you getting paid, how much is your government paying you
- Soccer is the big sport here
- The local view of foreigners is from TV. Oh boy!
- Winter break is around 12/23 to 1/20 coinciding with many holidays in January that start with new year’s eve.
- We start teaching on 8/15
- We moved to Kutaisi where we will be located for the next week for training (teaching, language, culture, history, etc)
- One of the staff was on the Republic of Georgia version of Survivor and won in 2007
