We started Georgian lessons today. A couple interesting items:
- There is no capital letters – all lowercase
- The only language that is close to Georgian is what the Basque’s speak in Spain. Russian and Georgian are not related!
- When you are referring to a person by name, you add an ‘i’ to the end of the name if the name ends in a consonant. For example (note the spelling is not correct, just trying to give you an idea): jasoni, jenniferi, davidi, etc. If you are addressing a person you do not add the ‘i’.
- The proper way to spell my name is jeisoni.
- This one is interesting. Georgians only say hello to each other once a day. If you see the person later on, you do not say hello. You just smile or do something that is equivalent.
That is all that I can think of right now. Time to sleep.
