You just have to laugh at this. There is no other option.
Today it dawned on me that tomorrow is Friday and most likely greenheart travel will not be open this weekend. That means that if I do not hear something by tomorrow, I will probably not hear anything until Monday. Not good. So I decided that I needed to give them a call.
At first, I thought I was going to call and say that if I do not have the ticket by the end of Friday, I am out. Then I started thinking about what I would do if I did not go. I would definitely go back to Portland, sorry Kim and Judy, but I have no idea what I would do. I really want to get away from cubicle land and staring at the computer all day. But what? Really, I just want to travel and learn.
Then it hit me – I really need this experience. And, I would like to think, this experience needs me. We are bound together. Well, at least for the next year.
I decided that it would be more fitting to ask whether there is any chance of the trip getting canceled. I am fine with waiting a few days if need be, but if there is a chance that this is going to disappear on me, I need to start thinking about plan b, c, d and e.
I give them a call and ask if they have tickets yet and she says that they received some tickets this morning. Progress, yeah! But, Georgia, not sure if this meant the whole country or just the office sending the tickets, lost power. Really. Hah! Apparently, they were sending over the tickets for the people that are leaving on the 29th, or the first wave of people. The rest are leaving on the 30th or 31st. None of the tickets sent today were for me so it is looking like Sunday is not my departure date.
I am so glad that I am able to enjoy this situation and laugh at all of the craziness that is going on.
