You may be wondering why I picked this position. There are several reasons.
- I will be able to work with a local teacher so I will not be on my own but I can be if once I feel confident about what I am doing. Yes, I am assuming that that is going to happen.
- I work about 4-6 hours per day.
- The government is paying for me to fly over.
- The government will pay to fly me home, or anywhere of equal value, over winter break.
- The government provides health coverage.
- I get to live with a family and they provide me food.
- I get paid a modest amount every month.
- I read these posts by the person traveling Georgia looking for home stays. Read the four entries from June.
- The families grow a lot of their own food – lots of fresh veggies and fruit.
- It just felt right.
So….old person’s question…what medical services are available in case you get sclerochi of the lacochee (non-descript ailment)?
I am not exactly sure what services are available. We have medical insurance that is provided by the government and that is about all I know. I actually think that I will probably have better coverage than I do now being a VISTA for right now I just have health coverage. Notice the lack of the word insurance. It does not cover any preventative stuff. Thanks government!
