I previously wrote about applying for another set of AmeriCorps jobs through NW Service Academy. I got an email last week from NWSA indicating that all of their positions that started after August were cut. Last time I looked, they had at least 30 positions posted on the site that are now no longer. A couple weeks ago we learned that the VISTA positions were being scaled back for next session – sponsoring groups can no longer have more than 12 VISTAs. My group was supposed to have 15 positions so we lost 3 people. Another group was supposed to have 20 so they lost 8.
The part that really sucked is that all of this came down after the positions were posted and some people had been hired.
