Carlos’ favorite basketball team is the New Jersey Nets and he bought tickets to see them when they came to Portland a couple weeks ago. One of his friends could not make it so I took his place.
We had cheap seats at the very top of the arena, but we could still see the court pretty well. I was amazed at how much quicker the game seemed to progress than it does on TV. I guess not having to watch all of the commercials makes a difference.
Overall, even though New Jersey lost, we had fun. To get home, we took the light rail which stops right in front of the arena. People did not want to wait for the next train so we all crammed into the first one that arrived. We barely had room to move our chests to breathe. Luckily we only had to ride for three stops until we got out.
I can’t remember the last time I went to a Phoenix Suns game. Probably back when I was in college. I looked at the schedule and Portland plays the Suns in the middle of the December so I thought I would get tickets and go. The price of the New Jersey game, with the fees, was about $20 – affordable. Well, apparently the Suns are worth more, for tickets in the same section would be about $50. I had fun and all, but I am not going to pay $50.
