This was the first Thanksgiving that I did not spend with any family. It was so nice. No wait, I wasn’t supposed to write that.
The shindig was at my place and there were 6 of us all together. Steve went to his aunts, so that left me, Mary Rose, Carlos (her boyfriend) and three of their friends. We each made at least one dish and there was plenty of food to go around. I made salad and mexican tubes (recipe from my mom – manicotti tubes stuffed with a bean mixture and topped with cheese and salsa). Others made turkey chili, bread, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, squash, dressing and tofurkey. Lots of good food.
It was a little weird not being with family but it was nice to speed it with good friends.
