Brits respond to the US attacks on NHS

Interesting newscast from BBC regarding the US attacks on their health care system.  At the end they state that the US spends about 16% of their GDP on healthcare while the Brits spend about 8.4%.  I would like to know how the numbers for the US were computed for it does not seem like there is an easy to figure that out between SS payments, medicare payments, employer payments, employee payments, individual payments, etc.  Video after the jump.
