All winter storms compressed into one day

The winter has been very mild here with hardly any percipiation.  Well, that was until last night.  During the night a storm blew in and it has been raining ever since.  I just checked the rain gage and it is at 2 inches.   *** UPDATE *** It stopped raining over night and this morning the rain gauge is at 3.25 inches.Considering we have had less than an inch the rest of winter, this is a nice welcome.  The storm is to continue the next couple days so hopefully this will help us get out of the drought we have been in since early last year.

As much as I like the rain, the storm also dropped the temperature about 30-40 degrees to the low 40s, which is not that much fun for me.  I am thinking of going to Perdenales Falls tomorrow (finally a day off!) to see what it is like with water flowing so I am going to have to pack waterproof and warm gear.  Ehh, as long as I do not sprain my ankles again, it is still a good way to spend the day.
