Car Morse Code

The suburban I drive had some kind of mishap in the past for the driver door does not close all the way.  I am amazed at how good I have gotten at phasing out the loud wind noise coming from the door.

Anyways, on very cold mornings, the button that determines whether or not the door is open does not work properly.  By this, I mean that while I drive down the dirt road the car gives me a nice loud noise to indicate that the door is open, which it is not.  This can go on for a few miles down the freeway before it finally turns off.  Not a pleasant experience in the morning.

After finding the damn button, I decided to put a piece of plastic over it to make sure it was really being pushed in when the door closed.  And the result, nice quiet silence.  Well, until a strong gust of wind blew the plastic off when the door was open last week.

This morning, while driving down the dirt road, I got a nice reminder that the plastic piece was missing from the door with the return of the lovely loud noise.  Luckily, I had the plastic piece in the car so I just put it on and all was right with the car.

The noise this morning was a little different for instead of being a loud constant noice, it was going in and out as I hit rocks and dips in the road.  I thought my car was trying to talk to me in morse code.  Luckily, it was not an SOS call so I just muted it and went on with listening to my music.
