Yesterday, I did a load of laundry and was working on my computer while the clothes were being washed. When I went to the office to get the clothes and hang them up to dry I saw water over about 40% of the floor. Oh, crap!
I quickly remembered that earlier in the week Linda mentioned that she saw a little water on the floor after she did a load of laundry. Well this was a lot more than a little water! I quickly changed into my work clothes (note that work clothes now mean clothes for working on the ranch) and started moving all the boxes and stuff that were on the wet floor outside so they could dry. I then got towels and started soaking up my mess. I got a bucket and started wringing the water from the towels into the bucket and after all was said and done, I had about three gallons of dirty water in the bucket. Now there was more than three gallons of water on the floor. Luckily the wind was blowing so I opened the windows and kept the door open so that would also help dry up the swamp.
When Linda told me about the problem I watched her take the top of the washer off and we noticed the tube that connects to the bleach container was not connected, but it was still sitting on top of the washer and she seemed to think that this was ok. When I opened the top, the tube had fallen to the bottom and I noticed that only this section of the washer was wet at the bottom. I reattached the tube and ran a very small load to see if that fixed the problem. No leaks. I re-ran my clothes through a normal load for another check and again there was no leak. So here’s to me hoping that I fixed the problem.
In case you are wondering, Linda was not home, she was working at the spa. On the bright side, this gave Linda a chance to go through the boxes that were stored on the floor and clean up some of the office. I do not think she wanted to do this right now, but hey, you got to roll with the punches.
