While I was cleaning up the office, I heard a loud thump that seemed to come from the patio roof. I went outside and heard a cat meowing. I walked out from under the patio and saw Blossom sitting on the roof. Yesterday, I did a load of laundry and was working on my computer while the clothes were being washed. When I went to the office to get the clothes and hang them up to dry I saw water over about 40% of the floor. Oh, crap! Continue reading Oh, Crap! On christmas, Linda and I went to Colorado Bend State Park to go for a hike. This is the first hike we have been on in over two months so it was nice to get away. This is a video my dad forwarded to me that has some pretty cool stats that make you think about how things were and where they could be going. Enjoy. About a week and a half ago, we found out that our internet service, which is through the satellite, has a cap on how much you can do online. Of course, we did not know that this cap existed so it took me a while to figure out why the speed was 128kb, or dial-up speed. The internet provider cuts the speed down to dial-up speed if you reach 80% of your cap. Once we figured out what was going on and I looked to see how close to the cap we were, it turned out to be 95%. Ooops. The other day Linda ate steamed beets with butter and salt for dinner. Luckily, I was almost done eating so I did not have to worry about losing my appetite. Linda and I were playing backgammon tonight and in one game I rolled 3 doubles in a row. Not once, not twice, but three times within the same game. Boo-yah! Who’s you’re daddy!!!!! Not that it matters, but yeah, I won. I went for a drive this weekend and noticed a lot of tall (100-200 ft) cell phone towers along the country side. I also noticed that it was windy out and it got me thinking, why are there no wind turbines on these cell phone towers? I am not talking about the traditional windmill [...] Linda spent a summer in British Columbia where the town was on one side of a lake and a glacier was on the other. Needless to say, she dressed warm the whole summer. She told me yesterday that one way she kept warm was by sprinking cayenne pepper into her shoes. Believe it or not. This would be the temperature in my room this morning after the sun was up for an hour. |
