Enchanted Rock

While my mom was here, Linda took us to a state park called Enchanted Rock for a hike, which was about an hours drive away.  There are several trails and we decided to take the summit trail directly to the top.  Once you got on the ‘rock’, there was no trail.  It was just a bare rock face that you had to walk up to get to the top.  This part was fairly steep and we saw a few ladies trying to manage the hike in flip flops or platform sandals.

On top of the rock there were several small to medium size (1 foot to 10 feet wide) craters on the surface.  In some of these craters plants are able to grow due to rain water being trapped in them.  It was cool to see the plants on top of this barren rock.
