Sunday, 30 December
This morning I was supposed to meet Maria at the beach at 8am again, but I just did not move very quickly so I ended up catching the 8am bus and got there at 8:30. I could not find Maria anywhere so I sat in the shade for a while and read my book. Still no Maria, so I went down to the water and started gathering shells. Still no Maria, so I decided to walk down the beach. I was wearing my CCS shirt (the group I went to China with) and two ladies stopped me and asked about it. They are currently in CCS in Costa Rica and taking a long weekend trip to the beach. After chatting for a bit, I kept walking and decided to walk all the way to the end for I had not been all the way to the end yet.
As I was getting close to the end, I looked into the trees and saw Maria coming off a trail and onto the beach. Apparently, she got on the wrong bus this morning and ended up at a different beach where she ended up snorkeling with a couple guys and got stung two more times by jellyfish. Apparently, they really like the taste of Russian. So needless to say she was not very happy. We were both hot so we took a quick swim and she lost her sunglasses – really not a good day for her. She wanted to parasail, but she did not have enough money so we went to get lunch. Afterwards, she did her last dip in the ocean and took the bus home for she is catching a bus to San Jose today and going home tomorrow.
During one of the swims, I realized that I forgot to take my wallet out of my pocket. For some reason I put it into a different pocket and did not check it before I went in the water. I was a little worried that my credit card and atm card would not work anymore for if it was true, I would be so screwed. When I got back to town, I tried my atm card in an atm machine and it worked. Yeah! I then went home and took a quick cold shower to get the sand off. I then cleaned out the shells that I gathered and laid them out to dry. I headed off to the internet cafe for my third attempt to call home. The cafe was open (it is sunday) and there were open spots. Yeah! I called Judy, not home. I called mom, busy line. I called Cheryl, not home. WTF! I then called my dad and talked to him for a while. I then called my mom again and talked to her. I looked into the teaching monks volunteer gig and read some stories from people that have done it. Now I am not sure if I want to do it anymore and I am very depressed for I am back to square one. Square one – that was a cool show. So I headed home and sat on my bed for a while staring at the ceiling. I eventually started to think of people, areas and such that I would like to work in and started to make a list. Tomorrow I will try looking into these.
Then, much to my surprise, I got a bug to program! I ended up working on my dad’s site and got a lot of the basic stuff done. I just now need to work on the ability to checkout movies and then create reports. I think I worked for an hour or so and it felt so weird to be doing this again after so long of doing something else. Hmmm.
I then went downstairs and met the new Cosi student – Zetdi. She is from New Mexico and will be graduating in May. She was playing mario kart with Sharon. I think Sharon already likes Zetdi more for she was ignoring me. Oh well. Zetdi was trying to talk to me while she was playing and Sharon was getting upset for Zetdi was not doing a good job with the game. After dinner, I took Zetdi on a quick tour around town and told her when was breakfast/dinner, how the hot water shower works and other stuff. She joked that she did not have any change on her for a tip for the tour guide.
Hi! Judy says this is where you leave a message for you. I don’t beleive her, that would be magic. Part of me is quite glad you may be comming home, if only for a time. I hope you’re healthy, even if your only moderately happy.
Hi Sweetie -
I’m sorry I keep missing your phone calls.
I’m not good at sitting home, but I really do miss you. Can’t wait to read more.
Now that I know how to use this thing I’ll post stuff more often. Stacey says hi. Now i’m getting a low batterie warning, I’ll post more later. Befor I forget, happy new year!
I finally had a chance to read your blog. Very interesting reading. Sounds like quite the adventure. Take care Jason.
