This week I got a roomba and so far it is awesome. In case you have not heard of a roomba, it is a vacuum cleaner about the size of 4 frisbees stacked on top of each other. The kick is that it is a robotic vacuum meaning that it tools around the floor itself without you pushing it (hard to when there is no handle – but there is a remote!).
I mainly got it due to and for the cats. They use to freak out and go hiding when I used a standard vacuum – mainly due to the noise. With the roomba, it is nowhere near as loud, so they follow it around until it turns toward them, then they go running. Plus, the old vacuum did not do a good job of sucking up the fur or the cat litter. So far the roomba has excelled at these two items. I even used it on the green artificial turf on my patio and it did a very good job of pulling the cat hair out of the grass.
Another plus was that I got it on clearance from Target. Saving money is always a plus.
The best part is that it got Tony to clean up his room for at least a couple of hours! ;]
