Mark your caledars

April 13, 2029

This is the day that an asteroid the size of the rose bowl (320 meters) is going to fly between the earth and the moon.

I caught this on Nova last night and, unfortunately, I fell asleep during the show, so I did not get all of the information. The one piece that I do remember is that depending on how the earth’s gravitational pull effects the asteroids trajectory, there is a chance that it will come back 7 years later and hit earth. What will happen? Well, according to NASA, if it hits land, it could devistate a region the size of Texas. If it hits the Pacific ocean, Nova said that it could cause 50 foot waves all along the Pacific coast of the Americas for over 3 hours. Not a pretty picture.

Oh, and by the way, April 13th is a Friday. Seriously.

I don’t know about you, but these definately changes my perspective on what I want to do with my life.
