The weather

The weather has been nothing like I expected.

First off, hardly any rain. I do not think it has rained since the end of the first week and everything that I saw said that on average, Xi’an gets about 4 inches of rain in september. I am guessing that we have had at most 0.5 inches. It’s a good thing I brought all of the wet weather clothing! But, you know that if I did not, it would be pouring everyday.

The temperature usually gets up to high 70s or low 80s with a decent amount of humidity. I have no way of telling if it is cloudy cause I cannot see the sky through the pollution. There have been about 2 or 3 days when the pollution was blown out and we could see the blue sky, but the rest has been nasty days.

We have learned that the online weather services have no idea what the weather is Xi’an is supposed to be. The one that I look at says that it is 88% humidity right now. If this was true, I think I would notice given that I come from the desert. Others have said that they have seen a ‘?’ for the temperature for a particular day. So if you have been watching the weather at all, it is all a lie! ;]
