When I started doing my last round of packing this afternoon, it finally hit me like a ton of bricks that this is really happening. I have been dreaming about traveling to Asia for so long that this trip did not seem real. This is probably a bad anolgy, but I compared it to someone’s wedding day that he/she has been dreaming about for so long and it has finaly arrived. I am man enough to admit that I got choked up with emotion.
This emotion also came about because of all the attention I received during the last couple of days from friends and family. I am not used to receiving this kind of attention and it is nice to know that people care about me. Thank you all for your best wishes, gifts, hugs and kisses. It really means a lot to me and will help me get through any rought times I encounter.
I am off to the security gates to start my flight to China. The next post I write will be from Xi’an!
